Top 5 Autumn/Winter ‘Footwear’ Must-Haves

Summer has drawn to an end which means we must hide away our sandals and flip-flops *tear*

BUT the positive side to this is it’s an excuse to get our Autumn/Winter wardrobe stocked up!! And footwear is an important part of this process. Almost as important as the new clothing styles we’ll buy, Our footwear must change with them – Well, you wouldn’t wear your new puffy  Winter Coat with your open-toe sandals now would you? We’re here to advice you on your top A/W Footwear Must-Haves.

1) The Shoe- Boot Wedge
A handy replacement for any of you Summer wedge fans. You can stick to your favourite style of shoe but with a Winter twist. Swap the open toe for closed toe and change your colour palette. All the top high street stores begin stocking this style now and they are popular as they can be worn from day-to-night. A lot of girls opt for them for nights out as they are more comfy than your regular stiletto, which makes them perfect for ‘Date Nights’ or casual cocktails with the girls. Ladies who require a bit of height with their booties need to invest in these.

2) Ugg Boots
Okay, i know we’ve been looking at these for many years now, but ladies, Do they ever fail? You really cant beat a pair of, what is essentially outdoor slippers, am i right? They are deemed ‘Man-Repellers’ by some, but who cares when your feet are this cosy? Even if you only need them to pop to the shops on a frosty morning, or walk your kids to school, everyone needs to have a pair of Uggs at hand.

3) The Loafer/Slipper Flats
Again this style is a development of a Summer style – the classic ballet flat. Not everyone enjoys a heel, so for those who don’t, the uber cool slipper flat is an edgy alternative. Available in a HUGE range of colours/prints/embellishments etc – They’re not just for comfort, they can make your whole outfit. This style is perfect for the girl who spends the day on her feet, whether its running after your kids, working on a shop floor or simply out shopping for the day. This style ensures you trendiness as well as comfort. We showed you the other day how they are Miranda Kerrs go-to footwear at the moment.

4) Knee High Boots
A SoSueMe favourite, we excitedly unpack our knee high boots when Summer ends. High-heeled or flat, knee high boots are so versatile. If you can invest, Go for a flat pair for day-time and high-heeled for a sexy night out look. The best thing about knee-high’s is they keep you warm but also look super trendy. During the day you can wear them over your skinny jeans or with tights and a skirt. I recommend a proper leather pair of flats for day wear, as they will do you for many years and they provide sturdy support and comfort. Whereas a heeled version always looks sexy sophisticated with the right outfit on a night out. Check out our Sues pair from a recent ‘What I Wore’

5) Black Stilettos
Last but definitely not least, the ultimate A/W Must-Have for your feet is – The Black Stiletto. Okay, so they don’t have to be Louboutins, but every girl should own their trusty pair of black heels. There’s not a dressy Winter look they wont go with. A perfect partner for your LBD, elongate those legs with your skinny jeans, shorts, skirts you name it. As the high street start stocking their A/W colour palettes, usually earthy warm colours – Black heels are the perfect match. And nothing is sexier than a woman in a pair of black heels right?
